Software Features

Steel Member / Segment Design

Developed in accordance with NZS 3404:1997 (including Amendments 1 and 2) and AS 4100, this tool supports comprehensive design checks for both single and multi-segment steel members. It evaluates critical factors such as major and minor axis bending moment, axial forces and shear to ensure full compliance with relevant structural standards.

Use this mudule in “check mode” to define member geometry, select appropriate section types, and apply various loads. The software then performs rigorous structural adequacy assessments, making it suitable for straightforward beam designs as well as complex segmented members with varying properties along their length.

Results can be exported to a professional PDF report available in three customizable styles:

  • Summary Report: A concise overview highlighting key design results and safety checks.
  • Standard Report: Includes detailed equations and design results presented in a clear standard format.
  • Detailed Report: A comprehensive step-by-step report featuring intermediate calculations, capacity ratios, and equations presented in scientific notation for full transparency and traceability.

The report’s header clearly identifies the critical segment, indicating which segment controls the design based on the highest utilization ratio and related failure mode. Users can conveniently navigate through different segments’ results using intuitive controls.

Designed with clarity and efficiency in mind, this module empowers engineers to:

  • Verify structural compliance against established codes.
  • Reduce calculation errors with automated checks.
  • Generate professional documentation suitable for submission and review.
