This application has been developed in accordance with the relevant provisions of NZS 3404:1997 (including Amendments 1 and 2) and AS 4100, ensuring compliance with both New Zealand and Australian structural steel design standards. It is designed to assist engineers in performing reliable design checks for both single and multi-segment members subjected to a wide range of load combinations — including major and minor axis flexure, axial tension or compression, and shear.

The tool operates in a flexible ‘check mode’ where the engineer defines the geometry, section properties, and loading, and the software evaluates the structural adequacy based on the chosen standard. Whether you're designing a simple beam or a complex member with multiple segments and load cases, the application enables efficient and intuitive validation of compliance through clear input screens and robust calculations.

Results can be exported as a visual PDF report in three formats to suit different documentation needs: Summary Report (for quick compliance checks), Standard Report (for commonly required details), and Detailed Report (showing step-by-step calculation breakdowns, equations, intermediate values, and capacity ratios in an engineering-style format with scientific notation).

This design tool is intended to streamline structural steel member verification, promote deeper understanding of NZS 3404 and AS 4100, and support fast, consistent, and professional design documentation.
