Design Parameters

Lengths accept decimals or fractions, e.g. 3-1/2 or 13/16.
Double cope: the bottom cope lines up with the bottom of the end plate.
If not braced, cope strength and lateral-torsional buckling interact (Manual Part 9) - member design.
Table 10-4c; minimum size Table J2.4.
The end plate is symmetric about the bolt rows. For a coped beam the top of the plate is set at the cope (cope depth = first bolt - end distance) when the plate or bolts change.

AISC Shapes Database v16.0. ASTM A992 (W), A572 Gr 50, A36 (AISC Manual Table 2-4); bolts ASTM F3125 Grades A325 / A490. A supporting beam is taken with its top level with the supported beam.
