The beam is bolted to the column flange (major axis). BS EN 10025-2 (S235 / S275 / S355, JR / J0 / J2); BS EN 10025-4 (S460M, sections and plate only); bolts BS EN ISO 898-1.

The bottom of the plate mirrors the top (moment reversal); the bolts below the compression flange carry the vertical shear.

For butt-welded flanges the leg is used only in the compression dispersion (2s); 0 = none.
