Design Parameters

Double notch: the bottom notch lines up with the bottom of the end plate.
0 = no tying requirement.
Unrestrained notched beams need P358 Check 7 (BS EN 1993-1-1 6.3.2) in the member design.

Full depth: the plate takes the beam depth, the bolt rows are set from the top of the beam, and the plate is welded to the web and both flanges.

P358 Check 2: a ≥ 0.40tw (S275) / 0.48tw (S355) for full strength.
The end plate is symmetric about the bolt rows. For a coped beam the top of the plate is set at the cope (cope depth = first bolt - end distance) when the plate or bolts change.

ArcelorMittal Orange Book (UKB / UKC to BS 4-1, IPE / HE to Euronorm 19-57 / 53-62, angles to BS EN 10056-1). BS EN 10025-2 (S235 / S275 / S355, JR / J0 / J2); BS EN 10025-4 (S460M, sections and plate only); bolts BS EN ISO 898-1. A supporting beam is taken with its top level with the supported beam.
